Leadership in the Spotlight
Youth Leadership Awards
The Youth Leadership Award program promotes positive images of young people throughout Alachua County. This initiative recognizes that today’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are the leaders of today.

Each year, community members across the county nominate middle and high school students who embody core leadership traits such as integrity, service, and resilience. These awards honor the young people who are making an impact in their schools, neighborhoods, and beyond, celebrating the important role they play in shaping our community.

Nominations are accepted during the month of April. Stay connected and join us in recognizing the extraordinary youth leaders among us!
Leadership in Action
Rethink Service
Rethink is a transformative 12-week service learning program designed for high school students eager to unlock their leadership potential and make a real impact. Through intentional skill-building workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and collaborative learning, each fellow is equipped to bring their unique project ideas to life.

Participants will develop essential leadership skills such as strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management while working on initiatives that matter to them. By the end of the program, each fellow will not only have honed their leadership identity but will also see their ideas in action during National Global Youth Service Day—a day dedicated to celebrating youth-led service projects around the world.

Take the first step toward becoming the leader you’re meant to be.

Applications for the Rethink Fellowship open in November. Stay connected and be the first to join our next cohort of changemakers!
